It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. Not for lack of trying, there are so many things I want to talk about. I actually have about 4 articles that are partially written. However, after contracting Covid in January my focus and energy is just not the the same.

It’s been hard keeping focused to finish my articles. I put a lot of pressure on myself to put out at least 2 post per month. I always try to add some informative information and resources. I do so in hoping that anyone reading will be able to not only learn from my articles but also expand their own knowledge. But there are times I just want to get something off my chest and maybe someone else out there feels the same way. So I decided that I would do a few short post titled; Okay, So Here Me Out! Basically some blurbs or rants about current topics in the Korean Entertainment industry. So here is the the very first one.

Okay, So here me out!!! English Releases in KPop

Okay, so here me out! I already know that this may be an unpopular opinion and please remember that this is an opinion. However I am little disappointed in hearing that BTS next single titled “Butter” will be an English track. Please don’t get me wrong, I will always support any and all music that the boys release. I am ARMY through and through when it comes to BTS. However, I just fear that the norm in the Korean Pop industry will be the need to put out English language EPs just to satisfy the increase and draw in more Western fans.

I hope that at least BTS has a hand in writing and producing Butter, unlike Dynamite. That’s one of the things I have always appreciated about BTS, their story telling. And yes, I know, sometimes a bop is just a bop and sometimes enjoying a good song is enough. But as they broaden the fan base and receive more global recognition, I want it to be for something they have their hand in writing. Don’t get me wrong, it could be in English or Korean or both. I just want their work to receive as much global appreciation and acceptance as any song written and preformed in English.

Will Butter still top the charts? Absolutely! Will the Butter MV hit millions of views in 24 hours? Absolutely! Ultimately ARMY will make sure Butter is a global success. There is just a little part of me that hopes that HYBE (aka Big Hit) has a masterplan greater than any of us can imagine. I think the meme below sums up how I feel perfectly!
